Majlis election committee meeting discusses progress of registration

Times of Oman, Muscat — The seventh meeting of the main committee for the Majlis Al Shura’s sixth term elections was held here yesterday under the chairmanship of Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, undersecretary at the Interior Ministry.
The meeting discussed a number of topics on its agenda, like follow-up of the registration progress at the electoral register and completed discussions on topics which were on the sixth meeting’s agenda.
Earlier, the Ministry of Interior had set October 27 as the voting day for the Majlis Al Shura’s sixth term elections.
The ministry also urged the eligible citizens to submit their applications at the walis’ offices to register their names in the electoral register before July end, which is the last date for submitting the application forms.
